Economic empowerment for young-and-literate women.

October 2017 – July 2018.

SheCan was funded by the USAID’s Ambassador Fund Program, SheCan partnered with six women universities in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab. It provided professional skills development trainings along with facilitating the young women to avail various internship opportunities both in home districts, as well as in Islamabad.

The project celebrated the International Day of Women Entrepreneurs to raise awareness and motivate the young women to choose professional careers, even if the local traditions and customs dictated otherwise.

In addition to working with the women universities, the project also engaged the Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the project districts, and successfully influenced the young women in directly learning from the active women entrepreneurs and professionals.
