Bringing people together for local government.

October – December 2018.

This short project worked in district Kohat, and worked with the local media professionals, political parties’ leaders, including women, civil society activists and youth. It provided fundamental understanding to the masses about the Local Government Act 2013, and trained them in civil-democratic activism to solicit joint actions with elected and administrative officials on civic matters.

The project also built bridges between the elected members of the local government and the “other side” i.e. media, political opposition, and civil society et al. for collective actions benefitting citizens and communities.

Aahung also mobilized local leaders, including government officials, and connected them with the partner universities and madaris to promote the ideas of social cohesion among the grassroots communities.
