Building peace, bridges, and understanding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
September 2017 – June 2019.
Aahung was funded by the US Embassy, Islamabad, the project worked in the post-conflict scenarios of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It engaged communities and their leaders in ten districts of KP, and partnered with 10 public sector universities and 22 major madaris.
Aahung was a training, capacity enhancement, and advocacy project and merged two different, at times competing sides of the academic divide i.e. universities and madaris (seminaries). The project created safe spaces for their academicians and students to collaborate and work for social cohesion.
Aahung also mobilized local leaders, including local government officials, and connected them with the partner universities and madaris to promote the ideas of social cohesion among the grassroots communities.
