SheCan worked with the six women-only universities in Punjab, State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, KP and Gilgit-Baltistan. The idea of the project stems from an extremely firm belief of the organization that without women’s meaningful participation in entrepreneurial ventures and professional jobs, Pakistan’s economy shall never/never be able to meet its full potential. Hence, SheCan focused on the professional skills development of the young women (mostly) studying business and management sciences in the six universities. Recognizing the challenges that various forms of harassment pose to the young Pakistani women, the project particularly designed a training module on Handling Harassment, and empowered them with the knowledge about different kinds of harassment and ways to handle them. The project ended in a strategy workshop that was held in Islamabad where the representatives of benefitting universities participated and interacted with a wide range of relevant mentors in Islamabad.
Timeframe: December 2017 – July 2018.
