Seekho worked with the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at the University of Turbat (UOT), Balochistan to provide professional skills development training to their students. This was the first ever such intervention for the UOT that operates in the farthest edge of Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The project provided skills building trainings, celebrated the global entrepreneurship day, held online mentoring sessions for the beneficiaries and connected the Makran Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the UOT, and encouraged both sides to continue the engagement as it is extremely important for the local youth to understand the array of professional challenges that they should be able to handle as and when they enter their professional lives.
Seekho also held a policy dialogue with the provincial level stakeholders involving publicand administrative officials in Quetta, Balochistan’s provincial capital. The project emphasized on the need to empower the youth studying in universities in remote areas, so that they could be enabled to understand and learn the importance of professional skills development.
