Make Peace Possible

Project Brief:

Under the project, CSED worked with the young students and their teachers studying at a religious seminary and the Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan. The basic premise was the create a safe space to hold mutual dialogue, and assist both sides connect, understand and move forward on the challenges posed by the violence and extremism in the local society.

It was a three-month long project and successfully tested the idea of connecting two divisions of the education and academic divide in Pakistan for a common cause of building a strong social cohesion. The project provided trainings to the teachers and the students, held dialogues among the youth and provided mentorship on peacebuilding via engaging the local leaders. In addition to the students and faculty members of the religious school and the university, the project also involved the local civil society and media leaders.
