Aahung (Pilot)

Project Brief:

Building upon the lessons learnt from Make Peace Possible, a larger and more inclusive project was conceived and implemented in another geographic location with a view to test the validity of the concept in different settings. In this project, four madaris were made partners along with the University of Swat, Mingora, KP. The project provided training to the youth, trained the teachers as Master Trainers, mentored the local leaders by connecting them with the subject specialists and leaders in Peshawar and Islamabad, and built truly a strong case in favor of local peacebuilding, and the role of youth as community leaders.

It was (again) a three-month long project, and ended at a grand gathering in Islamabad where the project beneficiaries and mentors from Mingora, Peshawar and Islamabad interacted and deliberated on enhancing their roles and connections for building a greater social cohesion.

Timeframe: March 2017 – July 2017.
